The Forums team is split into 4 forums, which mirror the Leeds Initiative structures.
The teams have three key functions: Consultation and Involvement, Communication and Representation Consultation and Involvement When government bodies want to know what local communities have to say about changes in policy, new strategies and plans, the Forums are a way of collecting views and enabling voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) groups to contribute their local and specific expertise and experience. This is done via email, mail outs, workshops and events. Communication The Forums provide a network for communicating vital information on funding, events, training and policy developments. They are a platform for VCFS groups and strategic partnerships to share good practice, discuss common issues and plan collaboratively. Representation The Forums Team oversee the election of representatives from the VCFS who provide a Voice for the sector by sitting on and contributing to Leeds Initiative boards and relevant sub groups. The reps are supported to communicate the views of the VCFS and disseminate relevant issues back to the Forum enabling the VCFS to engage in decision making. |
