1.  I’m already on the Leeds Voice / VA-L / VOL-Sec database – do I still need to fill the form in?

Yes. Even if you are already part of either organisation, a forum or network you will still need to fill the form in. We will be collecting much more information than previously in an attempt to shape and deliver more effective services. This data collection period will update all the information we currently hold on your group to ensure all the information is accurate and up to date

2. What will my information be used for?

• To ensure that we hold accurate details of all Third Sector organisations in Leeds. Presence on the searchable online Volsec database will help promote your organisation and its activities.
• To build up a more accurate picture of the Third Sector in Leeds and to provide statistical information and identify gaps in service delivery to influence future funding possibilities.
• To promote the vibrancy and diversity of the Third sector in Leeds

3) Does this mean I’ll start getting more circular emails? I get enough already!

No. Part of this plan is to reduce, and keep track of, the amount of information that is sent out. Once we have all the contact names for an organisation we will contact everybody – ONCE - with a list of mailings and networks they might like to join. They’ll let us know and we’ll update our mailing lists. If you would like to leave a mailing list or network at any time just let us know and we’ll remove your name. By keeping track of what’s being sent out, and being more efficient on what we send out between us we’ll be able to reduce the amount of information being sent out without reducing the content.

4) I’m already a member of a forum, do I need to fill in this form and will I lose my forum membership if I don’t?

Someone from your organisation will need to fill in the form – but only once. If no-one fills in the form, you will not lose your membership of the forum but your organisation will lose the benefits of being part of a better connected Third sector.

5) Why do you ask for the details of all the staff in my organisation?

Some staff may want to access dofferent services to others. For example David may want to be a member of the Leesd Voice health Forum whereas Diana may want to access a VA-L Training course. Consequently they will need to appear on different mailing lists to ensure that we send them information thats relevant and interesting to them
