'Seldom heard' refers to groups and communities who are under represented within the decision making process and who's voices, needs and opinions are often seldom heard.
The Community Empowerment Coordinator will work with groups such as; New migrant communities, travellers, asylum seekers & refugees, black and minority ethnic communites, people with learning difficulties and disabilities - to name but a few - to help guide and empower them to:
- Promote active citizenship
- Build motivation
- Gain the skills and confidence to speak for their own communities
- Work towards a sustainable community and resolve arising problems
- Encourage groups and communities to engage in the planning and delivery of public services
