The Community Engagement Coordinator facilitates and coordinates engagement at local and city wide level leading to clear opportunities for local people and local groups to influence decisions.
Community engagement, put simply, is the process of involving people in decisions that affect them. This can mean involving communities in the planning, development and management of services and supporting and strengthening community voices and representation at the Neighbourhood Policy Group
The coordinator works within three geographicaly based wedges of the City; West and North West, East and North East & South and Outer East
A quarterly forum in run in each wedge giving local groups an opportunity to influence community regeneration in their area. Each forum has a bank of elected representatives who sit on partnership boards within the localities.
The forums facilitate a two way flow of communication between the representatives and local partnerships to proactively contribute to, and influence, decision making, area delivery plans and neighbourhood improvement plans.
