The NPG is chaired by Stephen Boyle, Leeds City Council Regeneration Chief Executive. It gathers together the 3 Area managers for East/ North East, West/ North West and South East Leeds, officers from Job Centre Plus, Children Services, Re’new, ALMOS and Leeds Voice.
Recently the NPG has agreed on its purpose and linkages to other partnerships:
The purpose of the partnership is an opportunity for the 3 wedges of the city to come together to share good practice (what works, what doesn’t work) and have a collective understanding of how neighbourhood work is developing. More importantly the Neighbourhood Policy Group aims to agree shared priorities and resources for the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in Leeds.
Neighbourhood Policy Group is meant to be a more operational partnership being fed by the Senior Officers’ Area Coordinating Groups (one in each wedge) and linking directly to the citywide Narrowing the Gap Board, from which it will receive advice on change management and will provide in turn strategy advice for the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods.
VCF representation is of paramount importance – contributing its expertise about what needs to be done to address local issues and make an impact on people’s lives.
