Rural Infrastructure Support System (RISS)

What is RISS – Connecting Rural Communities

Rural Infrastructure Support System (RISS) – is a BIG Lottery Funded project that will work with rural Voluntary and Community Sector groups to deliver support, guidance and information in rural areas. We will also be working to make sure that the rural voluntary and community sector is viewed and appreciated as a valuable partner in the delivery of services to rural communities and to make sure decision making organisations understand the needs of the rural voluntary and community sector. We will work with the decision making organisations to modify and develop plans to make certain they utilise the skills, knowledge and experience of rural voluntary and community sector groups and guarantee their plans reflect rural issues in West Yorkshire.

What can we do for you?
The approach we will take will ensure rural groups have better access to group development services, have a stronger and a more coordinated voice to be able to affect real change and to access relevant and clear information about issues affecting the rural voluntary and community sector in West Yorkshire.

Capacity Building

We can help you to grow your group by providing advice, support and guidance in the following areas:  Funding & Fundraising, Setting up/ developing projects, Responsibilities of trustees, Constitutions, Policies & Procedures, Business Planning, Financial issues, Community Planning, Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.  Activities will be delivered in locations convenient to you, this means we will endeavour to work in rural areas.
