Safeguarding Children and the 3rd Sector sub-group
The 3 rd Sector Safeguarding sub-group is established to maintain links with the Leeds Children’s Safeguarding Board. Very similar to the Leeds Board the 3 rd sector sub group aims to bring together representatives of each of the main agencies responsible for promoting children’s welfare, and helping to protect children from abuse and neglect from the voluntary, community and faith sector.
It is responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing child protection policies, procedures and practice within Leeds, and for providing interagency training for staff across the city who work with children and families.
This group meet on a quarterly basis and the discussions are fed into the city wide board of which the Chair person has the nominated representative place for the voluntary, community and faith sector.
