The Healthy Leeds Partnership in order to give focus and leadership to its work and to promote the joint strategic commissioning of services on a needs led basis to achieve its priorities and also better outcomes for people, has agreed to establish a Joint Strategic Commissioning Board. The Board will co-ordinate planning and interventions to improve the health and well-being of all residents of Leeds, specifically in respect of overseeing the monitoring and delivery of those sections of the Leeds Strategic Plan which relate to or have an impact on the health and well-being of the people of Leeds.
The Board shares a long term vision that Leeds will be a healthy city for everyone who lives, visits or works here, promoting fulfilling and productive lives for all. The Board by its actions will strive to reduce inequalities in health between different parts of the city, between different groups of people and between Leeds and the rest of the country
There will be three Commissioning Sub-Groups of the Board. More particularly:
Each Commissioning Sub-Group will be chaired by a Board member from the Council and NHS Leeds who shall share the role of the Chair.
The functions of each of the commissioning Sub-Groups will be limited to the specific issues or services which fall within the remit of each sub-group.
There is an agreed representative on each of the sub groups who ensure that the voluntary community and faith sector are represented at this level.
